Back Again!

Sorry I haven't been around for so long! (still no computer)
Too many problems to deal with!
Some have been health issues that are too personel to discuss on here, those closer to me know what I have been going through.
Still no sign of a house move although I put our names down for 3 last week! I'ts close to 3 years since I applied for our membership to the housing association and its coming round to another winter, frosts and snow are forecast for this week!
Having been ripped off by the builder who was supposed to have fixed our roof and put in a new kitchen ,bathroom and shower room,we now have a hole in the ceiling and 2 bowls where the water comes in when it rains, the mold is back in the kitchen and I have to wipe the walls in the bathroom, down two or three times a day becuse of the condensation. It looks like they didn't use waterproof tile adesive as the grout is coming off the tiles and they are becoming loose! We now have no hot water and no central heating because he didn't connect the boiler properly and we found that the thermostat wasn't even connected, the wires are still rolled up under the floorboards.
And where is the builder you may ask, He took mine and probably other peoples money and dissapeared to Spain!!!
I will never trust a man again!! I thought he was a decent bloke who kept saying "don't worry leave it to me" and as I was so ill at the time I left him to it.
I had a new washer and tumble dryer and he told the guys who delivered it that he would install them,we now know why,it was because instead of doing the necessary electrics he just put an extention lead under the kitchen cupboards and plugged them into that,if water had been spilled god only knows what would have happened!
Am I stressed,am I depressed,you're dammed right I am!!!!!
We now have a dehummidifier in the kitchen (thanks to the girls dad who turned up with it to help us out) but what we really need is to get out of this house!
So that is the way things are with us at the moment!
On a lighter note Beth has been at college since September and is loving it,she now has bright pink hair and has had so many people stopping her and saying how good it looks, its so funny to see the looks on peoples faces especially young children, who tug at their mums and say wow that girls got pink hair and Beth just smiles back at them! She has made lots of new friends in her fashion textiles and design course and will be going on trips to fashion shows and textile museums through out the course, wish I could have signed up for it too,it sounds like so much fun!
I have started to try and catch up with everyone but it will take some time as I've like a bear with a sore head and not wanting to chat, but I have missed you all and when I logged on to Beth's laptop I had almost 4000 emails to sort out and no I am not that popular lol ,it's just that I am a member of our local freecycle group so I could delete most of them!
I probably won't be blogging dayly as I really don't think I have anything interesting to say at the moment, hopefully that will all change once we have a change of circumstances.
Thanks to everyone who emailed me it's because of you I decided to pop back,I appreciated them so much,THANK YOU!
Love to you all ,Take care,
Kathy and the girls

Trying to stay positive

Hi Everyone
The computer is still not working, thankfully a friends husband is going to have a look at it for me this afternoon to see if he can find out what the problem is!
Fingers crossed it's nothing major!
Yet again I have had car problems, a warning light kept showing up on the dashboard so they had it in and said it was a faulty sensor,so they put in a new one at £130 it was not cheap!
The thing that has really annoyed me is that 4 days later that same light came back on again,so I took the car back to the garage again and they took it back in again to check it out,I have also been compaining of a rumbling noise and a feeling that there is something just not right with the car.
I've told them about it several times and they keep saying they can't find anything wrong with it,but to me the car has not been the same since a bolt snapped and and completely wrecked the engine whist I was driving it and they had to put in a new one!
I was lucky that time that I was not on the motorway or we could have all been killed!
Maybe its just me!
This in itself has knocked my confidence in the car and I am more aware of it when it doesn't feel right!
They have now told me that they have reset the sensor light and if it comes on again they want it back in the garage for 3 days as it could be an elecrical fault,Wow doesn't that fill you with confidence, not!!!
I dread getting into it now and I used to love going out in it,this was the first car I bought myself after the split with my husband,I felt so independant then, but this has really knocked me for six and I am not in a position to buy another one so I guess I am going to have to put up with it for now!
We live very simply at the best of times but i have to try and think positive!
We put in for another house this last week and funnily enough it was one that we put in for and didn't get 6 months ago.
Its a 3 bed house in a quiet area with a small front and side garden with a much bigger one at the back and there is a lovely park area with a walk through over the back fence which would be ideal for walks with the dogs and the cats would be safe too away from the roads,so we are really keeping our fingers crossed but at the same time trying not to get our hopes up too much!
I have to say well done to Lee at Solstice Dreamers whose luck has changed and she will be moving into her new house soon, thanks for the good wishes and yes, lets hope your luck will rub off on to a few more of us! we could certainly do with it at the moment!
Hope everyone is keeping well and your families are ok,thinking of you all until I get our computer up and running again and I can get back to catching up with everyone,I do miss you guys!!!!

Computers!

Hi to everyone, sorry I've not posted for awhile!
Just when you think things can't get any worse the computer has broken down and my car had to go back into the garage again!
Don't you just think some days things are really sent to try us and believe me I think we have been well and truly tried and tested lately!
Beth has linked her laptop up to the internet until we can get our computer fixed so I am a guest at the moment so that I could post my blog!
So if I'm not around much you now know why!
I have really missed catching up with everyone and seeing what everyone has been up to!
Its holiday time now and many children have finished school for the summer and so many of you have such busy lives it is understandable that many feel the need to take a break from their computers ,so I hope that everyone has a good summer and everyone enjoys their holidays whether at home or away and we all come back with lots of happy stories to tell and of course loads of gorgeous picture to share with everyone!
I'll be back from time to time when I can borrow Beth's laptop and hopefully sooner if I can get our computer fixed!
Love to everyone and speak to you soon!

Support!

Yet again I would like to Thank All Of You who have sent so many kind and supportive emails and comments about my previous post!
I have made some wonderful friendships here in blogland, you are all truly amazing!!!!!
Even though many of you have problems of your own, whether it be health, money or family, you still find time to leave such wonderfull messages of love, kindness, and support!
We really have been touched by this and I hope I can be just as supportive to you all in your times of need!!!!
Myself and the girls thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!
We now just want to try and carry on and do the best we can for each other! We have all felt ill and absolutely drained and so lethargic,we need to get back to being ourselves again!
Maybe now things will start to pick up for us!
We put in for yet another house but as yet have not heard anything, there is nothing in the paper today!
We will just have to be patient, the right house will be there for us when the time is right!!!
Ceri has now finally got her Dissability allowance through, they turned her down for it when it came up for review, even though she has had higher rate dissability and middle rate care for the last 4 years since she was diagnosed with her R.S.D.
We think it was because she has moved to another area into an adapted house and now has registered with a new doctor who didn't know her case!
So she had to go through another assessment,a doctor was sent by social services to check her out and he couln't understand why when it was obvious that she was worse than when she first applied and they had given her it then!
Whatever he wrote in his notes has saved her from having to go through all the scans and injections etc again!
He was a lovely doctor, one of the old style and very down to earth, he was concerned about me getting so breathless as I followed him up the stairs and suggested I go and see a doctor about inhalers lol
Ceri told him I was her main carer and struggling because I too was ill,he wrote it all down on her report and wished us well when he left! What a lovely doctor!!!
She has been refered to pain management clinic to see if they can control her pain, she is on the highest pain relief that they can give her at the moment!
Beth stayed at Ceri's last night after going to get her shopping(her dad took her) so I will probably get a call to go pick her up later unless she decides to stay longer!
Today started off with sunshine ,I was going to hang some washing out but its now turned to rain, might fair up later so I'll hang on,I try not to use the dryer if I can,the clothes always smell better for being put out on the line and it saves on electric!
In the mean time I must get off this computer and get on with some more cleaning!!!

R.I.P

This is just a short post to let you know that Meg has had a text message from my sister to say that my mother has died!
May she rest in Peace!
I won't go into details on here!
All I can say is that although it may seem hard to understand to some, but I feel nothing at the moment! Any feelings I had for my mother left me years ago!!
I just hope that I have been and can be a better mother to my girls!

Thank you all

Firstly Iwould like to thank all you lovely blogging friends for taking the time to offer myself and the girls your love and support on what has been and still is a difficult time!
We really do appreciate every single comment, and can I also thank Noreen's husband Brian for putting together a beautiful bunch of flowers for us and posting them on thehomelyyear.blogspot.com THANK YOU!
The latest update on my mother is that she has been moved to another hospital but as yet have no idea what the doctors have decided to do with her,I will of course let you know as things progress!!
In the mean time we try to have some kind of normality in our lives and we carry on!
Beth has now finished all of her GCSE's and no longer needs to go into school with exception of the leavers mass which she want to go to as it will probably be the last time she will see many of her school friends! She will be starting college in September to take an Art,Textiles and Design course which she is very excited about!
The school she attended had a very strict dress code so now she feels she can be herself, she and a few of her friends recently went to Manchester to see Avril Lavenne and for this she wanted to put some Pink, yes bright Pink in her hair and as she only had one last exam to do (and as I am a trained hairdresser)I agreed to do it for her and she loved it!! and so did her friends she has had lots of people asking where she had it done, one mum told us she paid £80 for her daughters hair do!
Ours cost the price of a bleaching kit and Ceri paid £7.50 for the pink dye which doesn't contain any chemicals! If i can I'll post a photo later!(if she lets me)
Beth managed to tie her hair back and pin her hair so that the pink didn't show for her last exam, the teachers didn't notice and she got away with it!!!!!Thank goodness!
I am off out shortly as I have been invited out for coffee,I got an email from a lovely lady who is one of the moderators of our local Freecycle,so I thought why not ! see you later!
